David (Wells) Sutton

The second son of David Hopwood and Lucy Wells.  David was born in Ohio in Feb 1822 and moved to Steuben County around 1834, along with the rest of the Sutton family.  He also married in 1841 to Mary Clark.  From this union were two children.

Mary A. 1842 -1855

Alfred was born in 1844.  In 1864 he joins the 129 Indiana Infantry, Company I, during the Civil War and in February 1865 he dies in Washington DC.  He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery but there is a memorial to him at South Scott Cemetery. He is at  Arlington National Cemetery Site 8282 and died 8 February 1865.  If you ever go to Arlington, please bring a flower for Alfred.  I can only imagine no one has gone to his grave. 


As far as I can tell, they did not have any other children.  

David dies Oct 31, 1887, according to his stone he dies at 65 yrs and 13 days, which would make his birthday 18 Oct 1822.  I do not have proof of birth day.
